BRAZING PREFORMS

Brazing Preforms improve quality while lowering production costs.
- Elimination of costly hand feed operations.
- Accurate control of brazing alloy volume resulting in consistent and cost effective joints.
- Provide access to automated brazing and soldering systems.
- Uniform wetting and smooth joint appearance.
The Prince and Izant Company also forms rings and preforms from tempered wire as well as customer supplied materials.

RING COILING

Prince & Izant Co. has over 25 ring coiling machines on hand to produce rings to any customer-sepcified size requirements.
We have produced 12 turn rings for customers as small as .028 I.D. with a wire diameter of .0045, to rings with a wire diameter
of .250 as large as 13 inches in ring diameter. With our extensive stock of braze alloy and the ability to draw material we can
meet all customer specifications. Delivery and lead times are minimal on orders anywhere in the United States, Canada
and Mexico.

MATERIALS
Prince / Izant Co. can manufacture preforms from a wide array of metal alloys, including:
Besides the many standard alloys we keep stocked, additional alloys can be procured on request, so please contact us with any questions.

Lap Rings
are formed with an overlap to allow compression "Cling" onto a fitting. |
Multi-Turn Rings
are used when a joint requires a volume of braze alloy that cannot be provided by a Single Turn Ring. |
Butt End Rings
will not tangle, and lie flat without Helix.. |
Segment or Arc Rings
can be formed to any degree of a circle and provide a "Snap" fit into a fitting. |
O.D. Gap Rings
allow expansion "Cling" where an internal placement of braze alloy is crucial.

Edgewounds
are an economical alternative to a washer. They are made by winding flattened wire on it’s edge.

STAMPED PREFORMS

The continual upgrade in the automation of metal joining processes coupled with the evolution of new brazing alloys has stimulated new growth in preform design. Prince and Izant manufactures custom stamped preforms from over 1,000 tools already on our shelves. Chances are we have existing tooling to meet your specific requirements. However, if we need to develop new tooling, our precision in-house machine shop keeps cost and lead-time to a minimum.

Slugs
are normally the most economical preform to manufacture, can be made from any brazing wire and cut to required length.
Washers, Discs & Shims
are fabricated from brazing alloy strip and used where joint clearances prevent the use of wire forms.

Multi-Slide Parts
Brazing wire and strip can be formed into an infinite variety of configurations to meet customer application requirements.
Cold-Head Parts
Primarily spheres and disc shapes. Used in joints of limited access that require a large volume of alloy.
